Paraguay, officially the Republic of Paraguay is a landlocked country in
South America. It is bordered by Argentina to the south and southwest, Brazil
to the east and northeast, and Bolivia to the northwest.
Paraguay Independence Day starts on May 14 and ends on May 15 every
year, and we know what that means - two days off and unlimited fun and
feasting for the people of Paraguay. On this day in 1811, Paraguay gained its
independence after nearly 300 years of Spanish rule. Incidentally, Paraguay is
the second independent nation in the new world after the United States.
