Oscar Wilde, passed
away on 30 November 1900, was an Irish poet and playwright. After writing in
different forms throughout the 1880s, the early 1890s saw him become one of the
most popular playwrights in London. He is best remembered for his epigrams and
plays, his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, and the circumstances of his
criminal conviction for "gross indecency", imprisonment, and early
death at age 46.

30 November 1874, was a British politician, army officer, and writer. He was
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945, when he led Britain to
victory in the Second World War, and again from 1951 to 1955. Churchill
represented five constituencies during his career as a Member of Parliament
(MP). Ideologically an economic liberal and imperialist, for most of his career
he was a member of the Conservative Party, which he led from 1940 to 1955, but
from 1904 to 1924 was a member of the Liberal Party.

and lecturer. He was lauded as the "greatest humorist this country has
produced", and William Faulkner called him "the father of American
literature". His novels include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and
its sequel, the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), the latter often called
"The Great American Novel".
Jagadish Chandra Bose's Death Anniversary
Jagadish Chandra Bose, born on 30
November 1858, was an Indian polymath, physicist, biologist, biophysicist,
botanist and archaeologist, and an early writer of science fiction. He
pioneered the investigation of radio and microwave optics, made significant
contributions to plant science, and laid the foundations of experimental
science in the Indian subcontinent. IEEE named him one of the fathers of radio
science. Bose is considered the father of Bengali science fiction, and also
invented the crescograph, a device for measuring the growth of plants. A crater
on the moon has been named in his honour.
