Bahamas Independence Day is celebrated on July 10. The Bahamas is a small island
nation south of Florida and north of Cuba. The island nation of the Bahamas is
the ‘Commonwealth of The Bahamas.’ It is a sovereign country in the Lucayan
Archipelago in the Atlantic. The country gained its independence on July 10,
1973. Prince Charles himself handed over the documentation to Prime Minister
Lynden Pindling, officially making the Bahamas a fully independent
nation.
