Every year, since its creation in 2013, International Angelman Day (I.A.D.) is observed on February 15 to create awareness about Angelman Syndrome.
Angelman Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder associated with developmental delay, epilepsy, speech impediments, motor problems, and behavioural and sleep problems, among other things.
What is the purpose of International Angelman Day?
· Raise
Angelman syndrome awareness worldwide.
· Mobilize
people to action & encourage fundraising for the AS organization in
their country.
· Promote
research and educational resources in the organization’s own country.
· Remember
those people with Angelman syndrome who are no longer with us.
