Darjeeling is a small town and a famous hill station in the Indian state of West Bengal. The UNESCO heritage site Darjeeling Head Post Office heritage building is recorded as one of the oldest post office buildings in the region. This post office building was inaugurated on the 2nd of May, 1921.
The post office is located in
the Municipal building on the Laden La Road, Darjeeling. The Municipality was
established in 1850. This municipal building is also a heritage structure and
yet another heritage building - HPO is nearby on the same road.
