How to Celebrate National Dice Day

  • Host a party: Organize a dice-themed game night with friends and family.
  • Get creative: Design or craft your own unique set of dice, or even invent a new game.
  • Learn the history: Explore the fascinating history of dice, which are the oldest known gaming implements, with origins tracing back over 5,000 years to ancient civilizations like those in Iran and the Indus Valley.
  • Share on social media: Use hashtags like #NationalDiceDay or #RollTheDice to share your activities and love for dice online.

Did You Know?

  • Dice have been used for thousands of years in various cultures for purposes ranging from entertainment and gambling to fortune-telling and divination.
  • The most common die is a six-sided cube (D6), where the dots on opposite sides always add up to seven.
  • Modern dice are typically made from plastic or synthetic resin, but historically they were made from bone, ivory, wood, and other materials.
  • Dice games can help improve math skills in children, such as number recognition and basic addition.

So, on December 4th, roll the dice and let the good times roll!

Computer Security Day

Computer Security Day on November 30th reminds us to protect our computers. Every day, computers become faster and more advanced. Protecting the resources, tools, and information on them protects the people who use them, too.

Since the first home computer, how we use them has changed. Today, we use computers to stay connected. We bank and work from home. While computers are on every campus in every school, many gain an education right from home. We do our taxes, attend meetings, and research complex issues all on computers.

It makes sense to do everything possible to keep these powerful machines secure. Right? Some of them hold a lifetime of data. Precious and irreplaceable photos, journals, novels, passwords. It is vital to protect even a portion of that information. Our very identity exists on computers.

Identity theft, fraud, ransomware, and viruses constantly attack our computers. They seek the most vulnerable users. In an instant, they take us offline, derailing a lifetime of accomplishment. Protect your family and business by giving your computers a security check-up.
